To maximize opportunities, youth may only be registered for AM or PM REC, not both.

Free T-shirts will be made available for youth registered by Friday, June 13th, 2025.

Note:  Separate registrations are required for other programs, field trips/special events.

Youth must be registered for AM or PM REC. to sign up for other activities/events.

Please be sure to add them to your cart along with your AM or PM selection.

Once a registration is made, there are NO refunds... so plan accordingly.

Program Description
  • AM & PM REC are for youth in grades K-8 as of September 2025.
  • The programs are generally offered Mon.-Fri. from 9am-12pm or 1-4pm.
  • Included are 4-45 minute activities: Arts & Crafts, Gym/Playground, Sports, and Swimming.
  • The order of activities is TBD by grade level in Fall 2025.
  • The cost is $50/participant for the six week Summer session.
  • Check calendar to confirm special event dates and times as well as exclusions.
  • Participants must be able to follow all instructions of NRD Staff without disruption to the class.

Arts & Crafts
  • Projects may include: Animal Creations, Magic Foam, Paper Mache', Nature Crafts, Recycling Projects, Sand Art, & more?!
  • The program is offered Monday-Thursday; the time is TBD based on grade level.

Gym/Playground
  • Activities May Include: Agility Ball, Capture the Flag, Four Square, Hop Scotch, Knock-Out, Matball, and more?!
  • The program is offered Monday-Thursday; the time is TBD based on grade level.

Sports
  • Sports May Include: Basketball, Baseball/Softball, Field/Floor Hockey, Football, Golf, Lacrosse, Soccer, Tennis.
  • The program is offered Monday-Thursday; the time is TBD based on grade level.

Swim Lessons
  • Program Includes: Swim Lessons and/or Open Swim, staff pending.
  • The program is offered Monday-Thursday; the time is TBD based on grade level.
  • Participants must be able to follow all instructions of the swim staff/lifeguards without disruption to the class.

Trips and Special Events
  • Separate registrations are needed for other programs, field trips, and special events. Please add them to your cart along with AM or PM REC.
  • Please note: To register for other programs, field trips, and special events, youth must already be registered in the AM or PM REC Program.
  • Some excursions are walking trips, some require drop-off/pick-up at location listed, and some include school bus transportation.
  • Due to space constraints, the number of participants for bus trips is capped as follows: youth = 51 and staff = 10 for a ratio of 5:1.
  • Please note: Registration for field trips also starts on Monday, June 9th @ 8am.

  • Week #1: Character Trait - Commitment; Sport - Flag Football; Field Trip - 4th of July Parade
  • Week #2: Character Trait - Fairness; Sport - Field/Floor Hockey; Field Trip - Newstead Library & Russell Park
  • Week #3: Character Trait - Honesty; Sport - Basketball; Field Trip - Akron Falls Park
  • Week #4: Character Trait - Passion; Sport - Racquets & Clubs; Field Trip - Destroyer Golf
  • Week #5: Character Trait - Respect; Sport - Baseball/Softball; Field Trips - Bisons Game & Darien Lake
  • Week #6: Character Trait - Service; Sport - Soccer; Special Events - Can Hunger, NRD Olympics, Fun Run @ Vets
